That is the official count of how far along I am. My new due date is April 3, 2009. Last night we went to get our first ultrasound done, and it was really cool to see our baby's heartbeat! The woman that did it wasn't very personal, though. We were in and out of there in less than 5 minutes, and she really didn't say much to me at all. Our picture of the baby, as you can see isn't very clear at all, which disappointed us a little. She just pointed, clicked, and printed out the picture, not really spending much time to get a good shot. (i know that there are better pics out there at 8 1/2 weeks for other women.) Oh Well! We got to see the heartbeat!!! For those of you who can't tell, our baby's head is on the right, and it's tail and butt are on the left... yeah, it's a cute little blob!
So here is some info from babycenter.com on how our baby is coming along in development:
"New in week 8: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby, about the size of a kidney bean, is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it."

Also, Just wanted to say, for the record, my best friend SWEARS she can feel the baby as soon as she's pregnant. So, don't discount everything as 'gas' It could be the baby. And it will be before you know it.
